Jun 13, 2010 OK,from the top, I have a HP G60-645NR Notebook, it came with windows 7. I have zoomtown security and thats all my anti-virus. I have tried installing Visual studio C# express edition, XNA game studio, Dawn of war beta, a Civilization IV mapmaker, a kotor mod tool kit, steam, and lastly Unreal Development Kit. So next I deleted from local drives at Steam AND deleted the Civ 5 folder from My Documents. Reinstalled via the disk (which routes to Steam automatically anyway). Tried to Play Civ 5 at Steam and once again crashed just before Turn 0. BUT THEN I actually looked at my Start options and saw 'Play Civ 5 (9.0c)' and clicked that.
Seams the codex version has an issue?

After running the mdmp file in visual studios, I received this summary
The game works on DX9 but for whatever reason the game is really glitchy / laggy and it makes the game a little annoying to play.
I've tried DX10/11 but that always exits with: FGXRenderer11::Present failed hr=DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED. Driver failure
however, that previous error isn't uncommon, I've been receiving that ever since I downloaded the game. I've been playing on the tablet version for a while (89 hours on steam) but now it's started crashing with the aforementioned exception code.
Edit: Forgot to mention that the crash will occur in the same spot in the game each time, I've tried uninstalling and re-downloading and re-installing but that just had the game crash a little later
